The Isle of Pink

May 29, 2005 - Tagged as: Travel

I just arrived at the Pink Palace in Corfu, Greece after a 22 hour ferry ride from Venice. Brian was supposed to be on the ferry with me, but he somehow missed his flight out of Luton airport in London. He then went to Stansted because some guy at ryanair said he could catch another flight from there. Apparently that guy was full of shit, so the last I heard from Brian he was heading back towards Luton airport.

The ferry was long and boring, but I did get to see an amazing sunset and the following sunrise. It's time to go buy a phone card and talk to Brian. My fingers are crossed.

David. I have been reading your emails with such pleasure. You are very good at descriptions - maybe travel writer is in your future. I am so glad that you got to the cappadocia area. Back in the dark ages, John and I spent 6 weeks in Turkey and I think that was the highlight of our trip. The images of the chimneys and the underground city have always stayed with me - that and the very excellent turkish bath in the adjacent city of Gorme. I hear you re the bread - we ate a huge amount of that delicious crusty white bread - at least it didn't turn your insides to water! I hope you were able to spend some time in Istanbul and see the Blue mosque, the palace and the bazaar. I found Instanbul the hardest area to visit in Turkey as 'preying' on tourists seemed to have been a national past time. Happy travels David. Hope you took lots of pics in Turkey.
