The Landscape Verses

Fairly recently, my friend Chris' band Kincaide released their first full length album titled The Landscape Verses. I have been listening to it a lot and it definitely holds up to many listens.

The album is a bit over 45 minutes. A pretty good length considering that there isn't much dicking around on The Landscape Verses.

The track listing:

  1. The Landscape is Consistently Flat
  2. Angels and Archetypes
  3. Sweet Anodyne
  4. The Devouring
  5. Something Survived
  6. Ayahuasquero
  7. Diamonds
  8. The Business of Subtle Distress
  9. Maps for the Blind
  10. Bad News Blues and the Twenty-Five Jive

I would say that the strongest tracks are Sweet Anodyne, The Devouring, Something Survived. I guess that makes the album a little top heavy in my opinon, but most albums are. Now that I think about it, I don't know of any CD that has the best tracks packed into the second half. The other 8 songs that I didn't mention in my top 3 are all good as well.

To summarize, The Landscape Verses is a great release. Highly recommended.
